Prayers of the Righteous

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29 In October of 2018, a tragic event happened in Barron, Wisconsin. A man named Jake Patterson invaded a home. He killed the parents of 13-year old Jayme Closs and then kidnapped her. While she was missing, her church family constantly prayed for her safe return. Their prayers were just recently answered. God gave Jayme the courage to escape Jake’s house and was able to find a woman on the street who helped her to safety. The police arrested Jake and he is now sentenced to life in prison. The members of Jayme’s church have been celebrating the teen’s return and their prayers being answered. Joann Tro

A New Heart and A New Spirit

"And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes and be careful to obey my rules." Ezekiel 36: 26-27 Ezekiel the prophet said that God was ready to answer Israel's prayers. And for us today, we also can expect the Lord our God to answer our prayers in His time and in His way. But the key to answered prayer rests on us to have received a new heart and a new spirit. The Bible tells us that when we surrender our lives to Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, then we will receive a new heart and a new spi

Your Will be Done, Oh God

Your Will be Done… Saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42 God has created people in His own image and has given us the power of choice. It is possible that much practiced by sinful people is not in accord with God’s actual will. Hate, poverty, alcoholism, greed etc. cannot be in accord with God’s actual will. It is not God’s will that people go to a lost eternity, yet many are. To pray “Your will be done in my life” one must believe that God is good and that He purposes the best for all His children. We must believe that God’s will is always best, that He has a plan for every life. The person praying this

Do The Right Thing

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. 2 Kings 22:2 The Scripture above is referring to Josiah. He became King at the age of eight years old and reigned in Jerusalem for 31 years. The reason I love this Bible verse is because it declares that he did what was right in the sight of the Lord. As believers our hearts should be like Josiah and we should strive to do what is right in the sight of the Lord. I understand that it’s not always easy to do the right thing, especially in a world that has no moral standards. Unfortunately, the society that we live in has turned their backs

Be Strong in Jesus in 2019

Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might." As the New Year 2019 is upon us, let us remind ourselves where our strength comes from. Every year, in fact every day, brings its own set of things that we have to go through. I'm sure that many folks have made their list of resolutions for what they want to do this New Year. The list might go like this: “I am going to finish my education, lose weight and get in shape, or I am going to make more money so my family can be taken care of,” and the lists go on. All of those things are good, but if God is not in them, meaning if we do not draw our strength from the Lord, all things are in vain. But the Bible gi
