I Take Refuge in God Always

"Keep me safe, O God, for in You I take refuge. I said to the Lord, You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing." Psalm 16:1-2 What a wonderful Scripture. King David was the author and he knew that God would take care of him. We don't use or hear the word Refuge too much today so what does refuge in God mean? It means to have a shelter against harm. It means that in our God we can take Refuge in Him during the storms of life and in times of trouble. It means that in all of life's journeys we have a sure place of protection and peace from the God of peace. God's Promises

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33 There’s been a false gospel going around for way too long now, declaring that once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you will have no more problems. That is not true! Jesus makes it very clear in Scripture that you will face tribulation. In other words, you’re going to have problems in this life. God never promised us a life without problems. However, He did promise us things in His Word that will help us to get through any problem that we will face. What has God promised us? Well, let’s look at a few things. 1

When it comes to defeating temptations, we need only to remember that the answer is the Word of God. That is all we need, because God has given us all that we need in His Word. The Word of God will make all the devil's plans towards us to be put to flight. The Bible will drive away any doubts that we Christians may encounter. The Word of God will drive away any fears.
