As we enter into the winter months, for some, this time of year can heighten negative emotions and feelings of depression and anxiety. Days seem longer and become darker sooner, not to mention the cold weather and blustering wind. But, what does the bible say about our mental health and how we ought to think about our lives, especially as seasons change? Proverbs 12:25 (NIV) addresses this subject by stating, "Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” This is why it is so important to belong to a church and stay connected to fellow believers. Count Your Blessings

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done." 1st Chronicles 16:8 This Thanksgiving, let us recognize that our God in His goodness, mercy and faithfulness has provided for us and He has cared for us spiritually and physically. Sometimes as we sit around the table to begin a meal, we say grace over the food, and at times, we may even say it as a ritual. But this Thanksgiving, may we take our time to thank Jesus for His goodness and His mercy in our lives. Where would we be if it were not for our Lord's protection and guidance? Why not take a few extra minutes and really give thanks to the Lord. We are truly a blessed people. Let God know this
