For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
In 2003, a cute kids movie came out called, “Finding Nemo.” It was about a fish named Nemo who gets captured by a scuba diver and his father, Marlon, goes through many obstacles to find him. Near the end of the movie, Nemo loses all hope that his father is going to rescue him, until his friend gives him the good news. A pelican tells Nemo that his father has fought off sharks and jellyfish to come and save him. This report gives Nemo the faith that he needs not to give up. In the end, Nemo’s father finds him. (Sorry if you haven’t seen the movie).
We were all lost like Nemo at one point in our lives, until we heard the Good News of the Gospel. Once we heard that Jesus came to save us, it gave us the hope that anything was possible. Our Redeemer and Savior gave us the strength to acknowledge that all hope wasn’t lost. There was a purpose for this life. We aren’t accidently evolved from some apes. There is a God that loves us and came to save us from our sins.
Romans 5:8- But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Our hope is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. He is the very one that took upon His own body the sins of the world so that all mankind would be saved from hell. He didn’t have to rescue us, but He did because of His love for us. The world that we live in needs some good news because all they receive is bad news. It’s unfortunate that non-believers have been deceived by believing that God is out to get them by condemning them to hell, when the truth is God loves us so much He sent His Son to save us not to condemn us.
John 3:17- For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Let’s tell the world the good news!
