Take a Trip on a Magic Carpet
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
I love the legendary magic carpet that could transport one who stood on it to any place desired. In a moment’s time, one could be carried incredible distances. Today, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can each travel on a magic carpet of inspired imagination and go around the world, so that we can see the desperate needs of the world in which we live.
We have been given the power and message that our world needs and the motivation that we must have if we want to carry that message to our world.
Let’s first take a trip back in time to visit Mount Olivet and listen closely to the one who conquered death, hell and the grave. Listen closely as He reveals His purpose of worldwide redemption: He says we are to make worldwide disciples. He promises His personal presence “I am with you always.” His inexhaustible power is available to us.
We need to hear afresh the Master’s magnificent claim. We can rejoice because of His companionship and promises. Unfortunately the world is becoming more pagan with the passing of every year. Christianity becomes more of a minority every day.
Our world needs Christ more than ever before. Countries are in wars and internal conflicts. Even here in our homeland, we are fighting one another.
But from our magic carpet we are motivated for the overwhelming task that confronts us. Let’s take a trip and visit Calvary where God said “God loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. John 3:16. Calvary is where Christ Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree. John 1:29
Let’s then visit the empty tomb where Jesus was declared to be a divine and infallible Teacher. There we learn that death has been conquered and the grave has lost. At the grave Christ declares to be the adequate and all sufficient Savior.
We can ride this magic carpet all around the world and yet we can see from this very carpet how we have the influence to impact our friends and families around us.
Let’s “Go” from place to place this coming week making disciples. Enjoy being the vessel that God is going to use to bring about the much needed healing and peace.
