God's Ultimate Plan

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

When I was a kid, my dream was to become a sportscaster. I would practice in my bedroom announcing a game winning homerun or a controversial call that might affect the outcome of a game. My passion for broadcasting sporting events gave me a deep desire to memorize players’ statistics, unbeatable records and other knowledgeable facts that I would need to become suitable for the position. However, God had a different plan for my life.

One night during my senior year of high school as I was trying to fall asleep, the Lord spoke to me. He said, “Son, I want you to be a pastor and preach my Word.” I couldn’t believe it because I didn’t know that much about the Bible. I responded by saying, “God, what about my dream to become a sportscaster?” He said, “My plan is greater.” So, I agreed to accomplish His plan for my life. The next morning I woke up and the passion that I had for sports was completely gone. I had this strong desire to read the Bible, which I never had before. God did heart surgery overnight and took my passion for sports and exchanged it for His Word. It was at that moment I knew that I had a real encounter with the Living God. I signed up for Bible College and the rest is history.

God is the potter and you are the clay. He is going to form you into the image that He desires. Before you were even born, the Lord knew what you were going to look like and what you were going to do on the earth. He has already written out your story. Now it’s time for you to follow it through and complete it.

Psalm 139:16- Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

The Lord created you for a purpose. You’re NOT an accident! Every day you wake up realize that God has kept you on this planet to accomplish His Will. We’re all here to fulfill God’s ultimate plan.
