We Have an Anchor
"This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek". Hebrews 6:19-20
An anchor is only good as long as it is holding the boat or ship in place. These anchors at times do fail - they will not hold the boat in place in rough seas at times.
As children of God, we have such an anchor. His name is Jesus Christ. As we travel through this life, each one of us will at one time go through the storms of life. It is just part of living on this earth. But our anchor will never fail and it will never let us down because our anchor is
supernatural, Our Lord and Savior Jesus. And when the winds blow and the seas become rough and beat at our souls, remember our anchor will keep us and steady us in one place.
We each need a plan to survive storms. Every person in charge of a large ship will always check the weather conditions before setting on a course of action. We also need a plan for surviving the storms of life. Praise the Lord, our Father has provided such a plan in Jesus. Jesus is our anchor.
How do we do this? Well, every sea going captain, every fisherman, checks the weather before going out to sea. Today they have charts, radio stations to give them information, and some have radar.
We also in the Spiritual have a chart called the Bible - we have the Holy Spirit to lead us and to guide us through the storms and calm waters of life. Pray and read your Bible.
So when the winds and storms come to us, we will be prayed up and “read up” from the Word of God. That will bring us peace and not fear. Make sure your anchor is secure and ready.
