For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20
As a child, I loved watching the famous painter Bob Ross on television. His unique style of painting and sense of humor captured the hearts of many people. In quite a few episodes, he spoke about God being the Master Painter of all creation. It’s true when you really think about it. Paintings don’t just evolve, there needs to be a painter for a painting to exist. In the same way, creation didn’t just evolve, there needed to be a Creator for creation to exist.
In Romans 1:20, the Apostle Paul explains that creation itself points to a Creator. The sun rises and then it sets. During the day there’s light and at night there’s darkness. We have four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter that are in the same cycle every year. These components show us that the universe has order. This proves to us the existence of God. Why? The reason is because in Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, it declares that the world was accidently created through an explosion that brought chaos. Well, if there’s order in creation and not chaos… then who’s right? GOD!
In the above Scripture, Paul is speaking about non-believers that don’t believe in God and reject the truth that He created the world. Paul makes it very clear that they have no excuse for not believing. As believers, we can be encouraged to know that we serve a powerful God that created the sun, moon and stars. When you think about everything in creation, it’s amazing to know that the God we serve made all these things just by speaking them forth. It makes you realize that the things we go through in this life are not difficult for God to handle because He’s so powerful.
Jeremiah 32:17- Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
The next time you’re overwhelmed by difficult circumstances, take a moment to go outside and look at creation. Always remind yourself that you serve a powerful God.
