Faith - Not Our Emotions

"For we walk by Faith and not by sight." 2nd Corinthians 5:7

It is wonderful to have Scripture in our Christian journey. There are so many different voices coming from the world that at times, we may get ourselves confused about the right way to go. We need to listen to the Word of God, which, from our Scripture, tells us not to rely on our emotions but always to rely upon God's Word. God is our Abba Father, our Daddy, who only wants the best for us.

We have all heard of people who are lost in the desert with no water and when they look up they think they see an oasis, with water and shade, only to find out that their emotions misled them.

Scripture also says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

There it is again. We are admonished not to rely on ourselves, but to Trust in the Lord. God's Word promises that if we do this, then the Lord shall direct our steps for the positive. This does not mean that we will never have any difficulties or trials, for we know that Jesus told us we would. He also said that He will get us through anything.

Our task is to keep walking in the ways of the Lord, acknowledge Jesus in all things and don't lean on our emotions or understanding. God can and does do the impossible.

A situation may look like we are not going to make it, but we must clean our spiritual eye glasses and look through the eyes of Faith and have Faith in Jesus. For He is the Author and finisher of our Faith. Amen
