Going...and At Times Not Knowing Where You Are Going

Acts 20:22 "And now behold, bound in spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there."

The Apostle Paul spoke these words to the Ephesian Elders. The Holy Spirit was telling Paul what awaited him when he would arrive at Jerusalem. God wanted Paul to go to Jerusalem.

In Acts chapter 16, we read that the Holy Spirit prevented Paul and Timothy to speak the Word in Asia.

Acts 16:6 "And they passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the Word in Asia."

When we as Christians are listening to the Lord, then we will be in His will and not doing what we feel is right. This is key in our daily living for Jesus. Jesus will let us know what is the right decision or path to take if we have our Spiritual ears open and our hearts are tender to hearing the Lord.

Look at Abraham in Genesis 12:1 The Lord had said to Abraham, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you." When God spoke these words to Abraham, he did not know where he was going. The Bible says, "I will show you the land I want you to go to." By Faith, Abraham went.

Now imagine you wake up in the morning and you feel that God says to you, move out from your relatives and friends and I will show you where to go. I don't think God would say that to you, but He may ask you to do a work for Him and you may feel that is not what you wanted to do. What to do? Pray. Pray and seek the Lord and seek Godly counselors who can be trusted.

See, sometimes the Lord will impress upon our hearts to do a work for him and He just gives us enough to go forward. These are the times to trust Him, for He does know what is best for us.

Psalm 119:105 "Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."

Never will God's Word lead us into anything where He is not with us. We must always be careful of our emotions. They can and have deceived every one of us. So at times the Lord will ask us to go without knowing where we are going.

However, if He does, we will never be alone. We can always rely upon the Lord God. Amen
