A Morning Prayer

Psalm 5: 1-3 "Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up."

In this Psalm, David is asking God for His guidance. This is a morning prayer to the Lord. For myself, if I wait until night time to pray or read, I will not be able to do it; sleep will overtake me.

In the morning, I am fully awake and am prepared to pray and read the Word. This does not excuse me or you from having an attitude of prayer during the day.

The Bible is full of scriptures that tell us God hears our cry to Him. Our God hears us and He will respond in His time and in His way. We need to Trust in Him, knowing our God does know what is best for each of us.

Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord."

God knows what we need, but we are told in Scripture to pray to Him and then wait for His answer. His answer may not be what we want, but His answer, His guidance is the best way for us.

Jesus knows the beginning from the end. Seek Him in the morning. In our busy schedule, make time to offer up our prayers to Jesus before we leave the home.

Prayer is hard work, but get into a discipline of prayer and seeking the Lord. For me as I have said, the morning time is the best, but you may be different in your time with Jesus.

Whatever time you choose - give it to the Lord and know he is there waiting to hear from you. Amen.
