When We Don't Understand Why

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." 1st Peter 5:6-7

Sometimes in our journey here on earth things happen to us and we cannot understand what is happening or why it is happening. Some folks get mad at God because He is allowing things to happen and why doesn't God step in and take care of these situations.

As children of God, we should be asking God for His help but we should also be thinking what the purpose of these trials or disappointments are for.

Well, we have all been there haven't we? But as a disciple of Jesus we need to understand that He alone only wants the best for us. So let us remember the following truths about our Lord and Savior.

First- Our God knows it all - from the beginning to the end. We don't and we are limited in our vision and this can lead us to wrong attitudes toward God and the situation we find ourselves in.

Second- God is full of love and great is His mercy toward us His children. So whatever He's is allowing in our lives is always for our best and He will get us through.

Third- God's ways and thoughts are so much higher than ours. Isaiah 55:8 says "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

So when you and I experience pain, disappointment, or trials, then how should we react? Let us try to see God's viewpoint and respond by getting into Prayer and His Word.

Remember Lamentations 3:22-23 "The Lord's loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Amen.
