Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the circumstances that may arise in your life and the problems that continue to develop in our world. However, the Lord doesn’t want you to be boggled down by stress, fear and doubt. This is the reason He has left us His peace. When you start to walk in God’s peace you are able to overcome anything that comes your way. So, how do we receive God’s peace? Well, the answer to this question is found in the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 26:3- You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You.
When you trust in God that’s when you will receive His peace. What does it mean to trust in God? It means to surrender your problems to Him knowing that He will deliver you. It’s important to understand that God has already given you the victory even before the battle has begun. Nobody can go up against our God.
Romans 8:31- What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Nobody can be against us because our God is more powerful than anything out there. We serve the true Living God. So, if God is on your side then you can’t lose and if you can’t lose then you have nothing to fear. If there’s nothing to fear then God’s peace will overwhelm you! The reality and truth is the victory has been given to you through our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:33-These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
In this Scripture, Jesus makes it very clear that our peace is found in Him. He goes on to explain that we will have problems in this life, but to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. It’s good to know that Jesus has conquered everything that we will ever face in this life. In understanding this truth, Jesus becomes our peace because He will help us to overcome anything that Satan will throw our way. The victory that Jesus has given to us enables us to walk in God’s peace.
