A Time of Praising Jesus
"But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, so that He might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." Galatians 4: 4-5
We just celebrated Thanksgiving with praise and humble gratitude to our Heavenly Father who sent Jesus Christ to redeem us. So now we are in December and awaiting the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Don't let the crowds at the stores or the TV ads take away why we are worshiping the Lord on Christmas. Some folks have gone through a difficult year. Always thank God for His protection and grace upon you.
As disciples of Jesus, let us keep in mind why we are being so joyful. It is not the Christmas tree, the gifts, family and Church family. All those things are wonderful when they are put in their rightful place. The reason for the season is Jesus and Jesus alone. He is to be first in all that we do and think. This season, let us be mindful of God's love, protection, and His Mercy over us.
Let us try to praise and thank Jesus each day, even long after Christmas has passed. It is a good and beautiful thing to get up each day with an attitude of praise and humble thanksgiving to our Lord and Savior Jesus. This we should be doing, even before our coffee!
When you have a quiet time during this season, remind yourself of the great things our Lord has done for those who love Him. God loves us so much that He was willing to go to the Cross for the world. He didn't have to do it, but Jesus would have done it even if only one person needed His salvation.
The best gift we could receive has been given to us - it is Jesus Himself. He took us from a place of being separated from Him and gave us life in Him.
This Christmas love Jesus, think of Him and give Him praise and thanksgiving. With Jesus in our hearts, it will be easy to love others.
Merry Christmas to all. Amen.
