Fight against Anxiety

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6-7

A definition of Anxiety: A state of mind produced by real or imaginary fears.

This Scripture is one that is easy to say but at times difficult to achieve. The good news is we can overcome being anxious. As children of the Lord Jesus, we are over-comers and we are not under-comers.

I believe that there isn't one person, both born-again or not yet saved, that has not gone through some sort of anxiety. This anxiety can be due to personal reasons, family members, jobs, and the list goes on.

Anxiety effects all ages from the young to the old. And anxiety is not only a New Testament issue; people suffered from it in the Old Testament days as well.

Psalm 37:7 says, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices."

Jesus tells us in Mark 13:11, that the Holy Spirit will help us when we begin to become anxious. Jesus says, "And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit." So when you begin to feel anxious, remind yourself that God the Holy Spirit will help you when it is time.

Our God will give us His provision. Luke 12:22 says, "And He said to His disciples, therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.”

Read the rest of Luke 12-22-24. God takes care of the ravens, He feeds them, so how much more will God provide for you and I.

If we do what we can, then let Jesus do what we cannot do. I am not saying that anxiety isn't real because it is. Why not try to do what Scriptures says to do. Give it to the Lord. Ask Jesus to help you in all situations and then relax knowing our Lord will help you. He will direct your steps.

The Bible says that God's peace will guard our hearts and our minds. His peace will flood our hearts and head. I want the peace of God to flow into my life each day.

I thank the Lord for doctors and nurses. They were put here to help us, even if they do not believe in God. But let's go to Jesus first and pray and seek His help and follow His leading. Amen
