Victory in Jesus
"Through Him (Jesus) everyone who believes is justified from everything you could most be justified from by the law of Moses." Acts 13:39
Victory is ours with our faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to this earth to forgive us of our sins and to bring us back into a right relationship with God the Father.
Jesus did this by the shedding of His blood for all mankind. But all mankind did not and still does not believe in Jesus. There is no other way that a person may live with the Lord for eternity in heaven unless a person accepts the free gift Jesus provides for us.
Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Yet, as believers in Christ, we all face temptations and we all still sin. However, we do not practice sinning.
1st John 3:9, "Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning because they are children of God."
When we let sin come into our lives, it only brings chaos and it will block or cloud our decision making for the Lord. What to do? Repent and ask God to forgive us and then go on with the Lord. We can be assured in our lives that we can find victory over sin by walking with Jesus every day, praying, and reading His Word daily.
We also must be honest and open with the Lord Jesus and tell Him about what is going on in our lives. He will clean out any and all of the darkest areas of life and make them new.
Isaiah 1:18, "Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow..."
Jesus will do it. He will change our attitudes and our ungodly behaviors when we let Him. The Holy Spirit will help us. He will show us what is pleasing to Jesus and what is not.
Brothers and Sisters, we can be free from sin and we can have victory over sin in Jesus' name. So trust the Lord to teach us how to walk this life with Him holding our hand. Amen.
