Knowing Jesus Will Bring Us Joy
In John 15:11, Jesus said, "I have told you these things so that you will be filled with My joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!"
When we know who Jesus is in our lives, when we know our Savior in a personal and ongoing way, then Jesus told us that in Him we will have Joy!
I am talking about abiding fully in the Lord. Not going to Church once or twice a year and declaring you are a Christian. To have the joy of the Lord requires much more of us. It means that we are sold out for Jesus. That we put Jesus first in our lives. In Him we move and have our being. Jesus must be first; first above our mates, children, jobs, etc.
There is a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness happens with circumstances which can fade, but the joy of the Lord remains with us and does not depend on circumstances.
The joy of Jesus will always satisfy our heart. Jesus wants to pour out His joy upon all of his children. We need only to open our arms and souls and let His joy flood through us.
Knowing the Joy of the Lord will overcome the trials and circumstances of our lives. His joy will sustain us and allow us to move forward in Him, knowing Jesus has all things under His control. His joy will bring with it His strength and it will give us confidence and courage to face the day.
Life can at times become weary. We can, at times become weak and weary and in need of rest. We need to renew our lives with the Joy of the Lord and know who we are and who we belong to.
Let’s let the Joy of the Lord put a smile on our faces and a pep in our step. Let the world know about His joy and why we can be joyful in the good times and the difficult times of life.
Jesus is our Joy - our strength - and our song. Lord, we all want to be more in tune with You and to know your joy more deeply. Amen.
