1st John 3:1 "See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are."
Isn't that a great Scripture - Our Father loves us and He calls us His children. In the natural, we do not call other people's children our children - but here in the Spiritual, God calls us His very own children.
What an encouraging statement, that the God of this entire universe should call us His children.
Our Lord loves us so much that He wants to pour out His many blessings upon us, His own possession. The world cannot understand this because, as of yet, they don't know what real love is.
But God loves us so much that He asked Jesus to die for us so that we could be in a right relationship with Him.
In 1st John the first verse we see who we are. We are a member of God's family and as His children, we get all His love and attention.
His love is always constant toward us, it isn't a sometimes “I love you.” NO, our God loves us every day, even when we mess up our lives. He is still there encouraging us to get back up and follow His ways.
When we realize what Jesus has done for us and that if only one person needed His salvation that He would have gone to the cross, then we begin to want to please Him in how we live and also in what we say to others.
This great love that God has for us also makes us want to spend time with Him in prayer and to study His Word. Just as we want to spend time with our natural families, so also we should desire to spend time with our Lord and Savior. Amen.
