Philippians 2:5 "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Our attitude effects the direction of our life. In the above Scripture, the Apostle Paul wants us to have the attitude of Jesus Himself.
Jesus left heaven for humanities sake. Even though He was God and was with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit from the beginning, He emptied Himself and He knew what He had to do and He did it.
Jesus' attitude could have been very different, He could have said, “Father, find another way for mankind to be saved and be made right with You.” But Jesus' attitude was for us and He freely became a bond servant and by His sacrifice, we were justified or made right with God the Father.
For us today, our attitude must be a Godly one if we are going to affect the world we live in.
I always say that "attitude will determine outcome." If our attitude is poor, than our decisions are not going to be the best ones. Our God loves us the way we are, but praise the Lord, He loves us so much not to leave us that way. He is always putting His attitude in our hearts.
Paul states that he was going to press on toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. We also must have that same attitude. As Christians, we don't stop when we are born-again, that is just the beginning.
Philippians 3:15 "Let us therefore, as many as are perfect (mature) have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you."
That is the attitude we are to have always as Christians - press on, move forward in Christ. Have a Godly attitude in our hearts, family, church family and towards the world. Amen.
