"I will be glad and rejoice in Your love, for You saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul" Psalm 31:7
Each day brings about its own set of circumstances. We may start the day feeling well and then the unexpected happens. It could be as simple as a flat tire or as terrible as a tragedy in the family.
When this happens, we can either sit or complain or we can begin to seek the Lord's face and praise Him.
Praising the Lord can be difficult at times, but when we do, we are refocusing on Jesus first and the problem second.
This Psalm was written by David and David had his share of trouble. It is comforting to know, as King David did, that Our God sees our afflictions and He knows the anguish that we all go through.
Remember in Exodus that God said to Moses, "The Lord said, I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.” Exodus 3:7.
As the Lord saw the affliction of the Israelites then, He sees what you and I go through now. He will deliver us in His time and in His way.
Try not to wait to give Jesus honor and praise. Make the choice to praise the Lord and make it a discipline for your lives.
God is always in control. He sees us in the good times and in the difficult times. Even when we don't feel Him, He is there ready to help us.
Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."
We have no reason to fear when our Lord and Savior Jesus is with us. He is our Divine Protector, He is our Strength, and He is our helper. Fear not and have confidence in Jesus. Amen.
